Welcome to the 2021-22 school year!

After a summer full of home renovations, I’m excited to put my paintbrush down and get back to the energy and excitement of the classroom!

My husband, Greg, is a Bartlett native, and we have lived in Bartlett the past 25 years. We both enjoy sports, traveling, cooking, and working out (shout out for Hotworx!). Our daughter, Kara, has lived in Knoxville, Atlanta, and now lives in Denver- all great places to visit, so I try to make several trips each year! I have a good friend in Phoenix and family in South Dakota, so I enjoyed traveling to these places as well this year. My son, Ethan, has a 6-year-old rottweiler that I like to claim as my baby and enjoy walking although he usually runs and pulls me along.

I have an undergraduate degree in journalism but worked in marketing and accounting before having kids. After 13 years as a stay-at-home mom and homeschool teacher, I decided to try out a career in education. This school year will be my 15^th as a full-time teacher (ELA 8, English 10 and 12, creative writing, and etymology), and my 5^th year in the 8^th grade at Bon Lin Middle. I love the energy that teenagers have and look forward to drawing on that energy to actively work and learn together. 
