I am very excited to be working as a school counselor at Bon Lin Middle School again this school year. I will be the school counselor for 7th and 8th grade students. What Does a School Counselor Do?
o Coordinates the comprehensive guidance program
o Conducts conferences with parents
o Teaches classroom guidance to all students
o Counsels with individuals and/or small groups
o Advises students on career choices
o Assists students in crisis situations
o Helps to identify individual student needs
o Analyzes test results to provide remediation or enrichment
o Counselors adhere to strict legal and
ethical standards in the performance of these obligations.
