Science

Hello.  I am very excited to be a part of the Bon Lin Lynx in my 13th year of teaching.  I love science, and I love to teach.  Over the summer Tennessee science standards were revised.  The new standards include an emphasis on practices used by scientist and engineers, and allowing the students to engage in those practices.  There is also an emphasis on methods for viewing phenomena with a scientific lens (called crosscutting concepts).  Altogether, these changes will become evident in our classroom as students complete more discovery type activities rather than getting notes from a PowerPoint.  Instead of textbooks, we will use laptops for our research.  I look forward to engaging your child in science and engineering this year, and promise to give my best.  Please let me know if you ever have any questions, suggestions, or concerns.  I am always here to help.
