This year Bon Lin Middle School has been selected as a TN RTI2-B (Behavior) Model of Demonstration School for West TN. Six schools in West TN are going to be recognized for implementation of RTI2-B program at this year’s PIE conference in Nashville. In West TN, we are one of only two schools awarded the second-highest award of Gold, along with Dyersburg Primary. Only four other schools are being recognized in West TN, with Silver and Bronze awards.
To celebrate our school’s accomplishments, we are having a celebration to include local speaker Fletcher Cleaves. Fletcher is a former football player for Cordova High and Lambuth University. Fletcher was paralyzed the day before his first football game as a freshman at Lambuth. Another driver, who is presumed to have been texting, swerved into his lane, flipping Fletcher’s car into an embankment and leaving Fletcher paralyzed from the waist down. Mr. Creaves has spoken on Good Morning America, ESPN Game Day, and is featured in a commercial for AT&T.
We are going to have an afternoon of celebration to give thanks to the members of the school and the community who have helped make our RTI2-B program so successful. A special thanks to Kroger on 70 and Gibson’s Donuts for their weekly donations of 2 dozen donuts to continue our school’s Donuts with Duncan weekly reward. The celebration of our award will be Friday, February 3rd at 1:50 PM.
