What You Need to Know About BLMS Orchestra This Year

1. I am here for you and your family. Whether you're in person or virtual, I'm glad you're here. If you are having a tough time, let me know; it's a tough world we are living in. Together we are going to get through and make this year a good one.

2. Orchestra IS still happening this year. I'm grateful to Mr. Duncan and our admin team, as well as the BCS Central Office, for their commitment to making the arts available to students, even in this season. We are still playing instruments. Even if you're home, you will be playing and learning on your instrument. I'm even daring to be a little excited about how we might be able to think differently and really focus on individuals and small groups this year.

3. The safety of our students is our priority. We are taking steps to make sure every child has access to the materials s/he needs and our classroom is as clean as we can make it.

4. Good communication will be even more important this year than usual. You need to be able to access and navigate Curve and have a reliable email. Please also use the Bon Lin app.

5. Music and the other fine arts are as important now as ever. Studying music creates problem solvers, team players, and creative thinkers. They persevere in difficulty and develop emotional maturity and empathy. Aren't these the skills we all need in our world today?

Introducing the MAPS Teacher Video

Mad props to Mrs. Paluso for filming our MAPS teacher video for this year! Check it out, and I think you'll agree:
